Założenia i cele zajęć |
The aim of the course is to help students practice and improve their English speaking skills through a variety of theme-based class discussions. As a continuation to Advanced Communication Skills 1, students will continue to practice conveying ideas, sharing opinions, listening actively, responding, using theme-based vocabulary, etc. Each student is responsible for preparing and leading a 45-minute class discussion on a topic of their choice. |

Grade of 2 -- the student has not actively participated in class discussions; the student has not shown any effort or desire to practice and improve speaking skills (the student waits to be asked directly; the student replies using a limited number of words; the student does not offer anything to further develop the discussion); the student has not adequately prepared a class discussion. Grade of 3 -- the student participates in class discussions when asked a question directly; the student has to be encouraged to speak but can communicate with relative ease at the C1+ level; the student has prepared and led the class in an adequate discussion. Grade of 4 -- the student participates in class discussions; the student shows effort and desire to practice and improve speaking skills; the student can communicate with relative ease and accuracy at the C1+ level; the student has prepared and led the class in a successful discussion. Grade of 5 -- the student actively participates in all class discussions; the student is enthusiastic about practicing and improving speaking skills; the student can communicate with ease and accuracy at the C1+/C2 level; the student has prepared and led the class in a successful discussion. |

The grade for the course is the grade achieved during the final oral exam. Students are evaluated on 5 components: Fluency, Communicative Ability, Vocabulary, Grammar, Pronunciation. |
